Anna Julien: The Baroness of Bartending

Meet Anna, a talented bartender with a passion for crafting delicious and creative cocktails. Anna began bartending part-time in 2016 while studying Industrial Organizational Psychology at the University of Detroit Mercy. Starting out at Kola Lounge in Farmington Hills, Anna quickly discovered a love for bartending and honed her skills over the years, eventually moving on to bartend in Detroit.

After three years in the corporate industry, Anna decided to take the leap and pursue bartending full-time in early 2022. This decision led to meet a mentor and friend, Lisa Carielle, who introduced them to the world of craft cocktails. Under the guidance of both Lisa and the rest of the Black on Both Sides crew, Anna developed an eye for detail and began experimenting with unique flavor combinations.

In June of 2022, Anna landed her first job in the world of craft cocktails at Willow Detroit, which she now calls home. With a talent for mixing classic cocktails and creating innovative drinks, Anna has since contributed drinks to Willow's seasonal cocktail menus including this season's Michigan Blossom.
