Leonard Lopp:THE OG

Leonard is a thirty year industry veteran. His bartending career began in New Orleans, LA tending bar at several different types of establishments from cocktail bars to dive bars. In 2014 Leonard was hired by Detroit City Distillery to manage and train the front of house staff and help oversee operations for their tasting room’s grand opening. Leonard’s departure from DCD was followed by a pop-up bar called The Keep. The successful pop-up led to opening a fully operational bar in a new location six months later under the same name. 

In 2018 he was featured in the third edition of Jack Daniel’s Black Book. The Book has featured some of the top industry professionals in the country. Leonard has also been highlighted in multiple issues of The Tasting Panel magazine, Chilled Magazine, and in 2019 was invited to be a Spirits Judge in the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America spirits competition. 

Leonard closed The Keep in 2020 during COVID and has been working behind the scenes of the liquor industry in sales and distribution. He is currently the Brand Ambassador of Weiss Distilling Company.

The Keep is forever. He now Runs the High dive with a close friend. I hope to see you there! Cheers!
